As a player turns 15, 16 years of age, he begins to take his game far more seriously. He begins to think about his future as it relates to baseball. At 18 he needs to understand that his baseball skills need to translate into an asset for his future.
San Diego STARS coaches understands “visibility” is the key to this age group and to play at a national level. This includes getting seen by as many Pro Scouts and College Recruiters as possible to ensure players receive the best possible college scholarships…or the best possible pro contract.

San Diego Baseball Academy Coaches
Coach Jervis is in his second year as assistant baseball coach at Point Loma Nazarene University. At PLNU, Jervis runs the defense and assists in hitting and recruiting. Prior to coaching at PLNU, Coach Jervis served one season as a Graduate Assistant Coach at San Diego State University under Coach Mark Martinez.
Coach Jervis is in his 6th season as part of the San Diego Stars program as a coach. Matt took over as Head Coach and Program Director in February of 2018. Under Jervis, the Stars have had 10 players commit to play college baseball on scholarship (Pac12, Big West, Mtn. West schools) and one will be drafted in June 2019. He’s had two-players named Perfect Game/Prospect Wire All-Americans.
Matt received his Bachelors Degree in Cross-Disciplinary Teacher Education and a minor in Athletic Coaching from Point Loma Nazarene. Coach Jervis was a 3 year letter-winner and 3 time CIF San Diego Section Champion at Rancho Bernardo HS (2010-13) under Coach Sam Blalock and played 4 years at PLNU (2014-17).
Coach Jervis is in his 14th year as a part of the Stars program. He was a National Championship player under Lyle Gabriel beginning in 2005 where they won the 2006 Cooperstown Dreams Park 10u Championship.
